Sulochana Thapar Foundation Nutrition Fellowship

Sulochana Thapar Foundation launched its Nutrition Fellowship in 2013 for young professionals to promote action research in the areas of child health and nutrition.  The aim is to develop a cadre of trained and experienced public health professionals by providing an opportunity to young post-graduates to address real life challenges at the grassroots early on in their career. The Foundation has awarded Nutrition Fellowships to 33 young professionals in three batches.  Fellows are placed within the government health systems or attached to the Foundation’s implementing partners for a period of two years.

Sulochana Thapar Foundation Governance Fellowship

Sulochana Thapar Foundation launched its Governance Fellowship in 2014 for young professionals to promote action research in the field of urban governance.  The aim is to develop a cadre of trained and experienced professionals in the space of public policy and governance. The Foundation has awarded Governance Fellowships to 9 young professionals.  Fellows are placed at Avantha Urban Innovation Project sites for a period of two years.


“This fellowship provided me with the opportunity to specifically focus on understanding and working towards malnutrition, one of the major challenges faced by India.  My biggest learning during the tenure was, through focused interventions and a strategic approach one can tackle the gravest of issues.  Moreover, I was able to apply my academic knowledge, theory and skills in the professional context and creatively integrate theory and practice.”
